Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for major design and development tasks for new electro mechanical instruments involving mechanical design, materials selection and stress analysis.
Minimum qualification requirements:
Degree or diploma in mechanical engineering.
Previous experience in mechanical engineering would be advantageous
Registration with APEGGA or ASET would be an asset.
Experience and skills:
Proven track record of achievement and technical problem solving.
Comfortable with involved design and analytical tasks.
Precision mechanisms, structures, pressure vessels, motion controls, transmissions and actuators, instrument and sensor development, design and material selection for corrosive, high temperature / pressure environments.
Oilfield / downhole tool experience an asset
A basic understanding of electronics and computer control systems, although not essential, would also be an advantage.
Computer literate, CAD / CAE experience essential.
An awareness of commercial issues: Value engineering, time to market etc.
