Senior Electronic Engineer

A position is available for a Senior Electronic Engineer to spearhead the development of electronic instrumentation and sensor systems for downhole tools which will operate in the extreme environments found in oil wells.  Our designs must work in corrosive fluids, pressures of 1000 atmospheres and temperatures above 150C.

Leading the electronics component of multi-disciplinary engineering projects, you will be responsible for delivering solutions to challenging problems in sensor physics and electronic design.

A degree in Electronic Engineering or Physics is essential, together with a proven track record of relevant achievements in development of complex electronic instrumentation. 

Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent organisational abilities to complement their technical skills, and be able to work with other engineers and scientists as part of a team.  In addition, you will be able to demonstrate strong inter-personal skills consistent with a leadership position. Registration with APEGGA or ASET would be an advantage.

Specific areas of your technical expertise should include:
Analogue (sub-RF) circuit/system design
Sensor physics and front-end circuit design
Switched mode power supply design
Digital and mixed analogue/digital system design
Microcontroller programme design and implementation
DSP based systems
