The Geolink Ultra-Slim negative pulse Transmitter generates a sequence of small pressure losses in the circulating System in order to transmit data recorded downhole to surface.
Description
The Transmitter contains a small normally closed valve which is actuated by a solenoid and opens a flow path between the drill string I.D. and the annulus. A valve open time of 0.5 seconds typically generates a pressure drop of 30 to 50 psi at surface. An integral pressure switch detects whether the mud pumps are on or off in order to control the tool functions.
Features
- Reliable - developed for use in the most demanding environments.
- Consistent signal - suitable for work in deep wells.
- Simple design makes the Transmitter easy to operate.
- Minimum wear parts - easy and cost effective to maintain.
- Proprietary thread design - high strength with enlarged I.D.
- Capable of Short Radius work - excellent for horizontal side-tracks.
