The Sondex Retrievable/Reseatable Positive Pulser will generate a sequence of pressure increment pulses in the circulating system enabling the transmission of MWD data recorded downhole to surface.
Description
The Pulser contains a normally closed pilot valve which is actuated by a motor working in conjunction with a gear and leadscrew arrangement. When the pilot valve is actuated, it restricts the mud flow through the drill string interior generating a pulse due to the momentary increase of pressure. Pulse widths as low as 0.3 seconds can be reliably achieved; pulse height variation is a function of flow restrictor selection.
Features
- Adjustable pulse size and width for environment specific operation.
- Single pulser operates in drill collar sizes ranging from 31/2in to 91/2in O.D.
- Pilot valve thrust (100 lbs-force) provides high tolerance to LCM.
- Optional flow detection output provides compatibility with Third Party MWD tools.
- Efficient gear/leadscrew configuration provides extended battery life.
- Simple mechanical assembly allows servicing in less than 2 hours.
- Retrievability and Reseatability reduces LIH liability.
