The UPL 2 way communication with the XTU and has control of motorized tools. The UPL also provides an interface between the acquisition system and downhole tools.
Description
The ULP is the power and control panel for the Ultralink™ system. It decodes downhole telemetry and passes raw data to the acquisition system for data processing.
The data transmission rate is variable on command from the surface up to a maximum of 140kbit/sec with compensation available for cable losses.
