DECT is the first pipe severing tool which meets industry demands for a safe, high precision and reliable, non-hazardous pipe cutter. DECT200 has been developed specifically for high temperature environments.
Description
The DECT200 can be run on Heptacable Wireline or can be Tractor deployed. Depth correlation is achieved by means of its own integral digital CCL, an additional analogue (shooting type) CCL or by the addition of a spacer sub incorporating a No-Go device. DECT200 operation is controlled by means of a notebook PC and two surface control panel's. Once the tool is positioned on depth, anchors are set and the cutting operation is initiated. The rotating cutting head is at the bottom of the tool and its outputs are monitored at surface. Where a precise depth of cut is required the travel of the cutting tip can be limited. Approximate cutting time in 5in, 19.5lb/ft drill pipe is 3 1/2 minutes.
